FVB memnber Luke Engen going to PBUC
Longtime FVB member Luke Engen just finished up at the wendlestedt school of umpiring in Florida and just learned he has been invited to the PBUC school where he will compete for a professional umpiring job in 2010.
Luke becomes the fifth FVB member to advance this far and we wish him all the best!
FVB Spring Clinic Set...March 7
FVB's primary clinic will be held on March 7 at St. Francis HS in Wheaton. Registration will begin at 8:00, and the clinic will run from 9-2. Agenda to follow but will include:
·We have IHSA Champion Coaches Bill Seipel and Robin Renner for an extended coaches roundtable
·DIII World Series Umpire Kevin Wirth presenting
·Hands on Cage Work with Minor League and Collegiate Umpires
·One-Man Mechanics for lower level umpires
· We will also be collecting non-perishable food items for donation to a Wheaton or Dupage Countyfood pantry.
Honigs Whistle Stop will be on hand selling equipment and FVB hats.
Registration to kick off in early Feb...admission is free for all FVB members, $30 for non-members
Spring Contarcts to be mailed Tuesday Jan 26
Spring school contracts will be released on Tuesday 1/26. Please be expedient in returning/confirming back. Over 500 open remaining games will be released on the FVB website at that point as well.
