  Pre-CABA CABA Golf Outing

Hi Guys-

There's still room for golfers at our annual Pre-CABA CABA/USSSA golf outing. The outing will be at the Red Tail Golf Course, Crystal Lake. Tee times are set from 11:15-11:45. We throw in $5 a guy and hand out $$$ for closest to the pin on all par-3's. This is the last time to relax before the CABA Rally and CABA week. There is enough time between golfing and the rally to relax and have a couple of cold ones before the rally begins. Reminder, golf and rally are Thurs, July 23rd. Let me know. Thanks!  Randy Mc...

  Burncamp Tournament Announcement

Fellow Blues;

Yes, it is that time of year again where I ask (beg)
my fellow umpires to help out on this charitable
tournament.

The tourney is on Saturday, September 19th. It is located at Olympic Park in Schaumburg, just east of the intersection of Meacham and
Schaumburg Rds. First games start at 0830.

For 15 years, the Fox Valley Blues have
donated their time umpiring 16-inch
softball games. YOU are an integral part of this day
helping save over $3500 in umpire costs.

Thirty-six area fire departments play in a
one-day tournament raising monies for the Loyola Children's
Burn Center. We work mainly two-man games and quite a
few are three-man. Last year, we had 29 Blues working and there was a 6-man crew on the final and a 4-man crew on the consolation.

The Schaumburg Professional Firefighters Association is the largest
single, non-corporate, fund raiser for this hospital. We raised over $45,000 (!) last year and hoping to top $50,000 this year.

For the newcomers, all the food, drink and breakfast
is included. No one has ever left this tourney hungry
or thirsty. (read between the lines).

There are free tournament t-shirts for each of you and
a chance to win many donated prizes including hotel
stays, airline tickets, dinner packages, golf packages, etc.

There is also a "silent auction" with lots of
autographed sports items you can sign up for.

We meet for breakfast at 7am (my treat), and go over
some of the rules but mainly talk about last years
tourney and share some CABA/USSSA stories.

I can't tell you how important this is to me. We have
had many parents of the injured children there and
they can't believe this is all for them. They are so
grateful for the time everyone gives to help them out.

For those of you that can make it, please let me know
as I am making a list. I will let each of you know
where breakfast is and any other info that you need.

Thanking you in advance, your friend.

Peace.......

"Baseball gives you every chance to be great. Then it puts pressure on you to prove that you haven't got what it takes. It never takes away the chance and it never eases up on the pressure."
